Author, a jiu-jitsu apparel brand, approached me to create a custom rash guard for MMA fighter Reece “Lightning.” The goal was to develop a bold piece of merchandise that captured the fighter’s persona while standing out visually in the gym and during training.

The design draws on an ominous, Batman-inspired aesthetic, combining custom illustrations with strong, stylised typography to create a dark and powerful visual language. The graphics were designed to wrap naturally across the garment, ensuring the design feels dynamic and impactful when worn.

The outcome is a striking piece of fightwear merchandise that reflects the fighter’s identity while remaining highly wearable around the gym, creating a bold visual presence both in training and within the jiu-jitsu community.
